Monna D. Treadway

Monna D. Treadway (Kolshorn) 81 of Vienna, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.

She was born February 21, 1944, in Webster Springs, West Virginia, the daughter of Carson D. and Elsie O. Gibson Utt.

Monna had a strong faith in God. She loved family reunions and Sunday family dinners. She was a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God in Niles. She loved to study the Bible; she taught Sunday School and children’s church. She loved to write Easter and Christmas programs and plays. She loved to sing and listen to gospel music. The Gaither Homecoming collection was her favorite.

Monna liked working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling by car with her late husband, taking in the beauty of God’s creation.

Monna retired after 30-plus years of service in nursing home care at Harmar Place in Marietta, Ohio. She became a board-certified Dietary Technician after going back to college much later in life. She was supervising manager over housekeeping, maintenance, and kitchen staff.

Monna is survived by her sons, Jim (Tina) Cogar of Ashtabula, Ohio; Michael (Heather) Treadway of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; her daughters, Robin (Bob) Mareda of Parma, Ohio; Roberta (Dewey) Salyers Jr. of Vienna, Ohio and Cindy Guernsey of Ashtabula, Ohio;  her daughter-in-law, Debi Cogar of Austinburg, Ohio; two brothers, Ira Utt of Charleston, West Virginia and Brice (Janet) Utt of Columbus, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hajo Kolshorn; a son, Richard E. Cogar; a brother, Carson Utt; and five sisters, Lois Williams, Rosetta Lower, Freda Magee, Nealie Dettrey and Shirley Webster.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 2, 2026, at 7 p.m.. at Praise Cathedral Church of God, 608 Iowa Ave., Niles, Ohio. Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be made to Hospice House at 9803 Sharrott Rd. Poland, Ohio 44514.
